Hello there!

I also have an ancestor who came from Leipzig whom I have not starting
searching for yet, because the Leipzig films (through the LDS) are so
expansive. There are a lot of films and I do not know where to start!

You said that there was no record of your ancestor. Which films did you
search? (I'm assuming you searched films? In addition to writing to Germany
for information?) You say "the archives" have no record of him. Which
archives did you mean?

When you say, "I have searched and can't find him there", it would be
helpful for those of us trying to help you if we know where all you searched
and which paths you have already tried.
