Derrell,
I went back and looked at the 1870 census which is the one where the
family members were all enumerated with initials.........and had a
strong urge to strangle the census taker!! :-))
I then went to the 1860 census index, looking for Thomas as a 3 yr. old
b. SC and came up with this family which looks like a good possibility.
Did Terrell have another name of Ephraim? This is the only family I
found with a 3 yr. old Thomas that had the correct initials for both
boys.
Name: Thomas P Padget
Age in 1860: 3
Birthplace: South Carolina
Home in 1860: Regiment 2, Pickens, South Carolina

Thomas P Padget, 3, b. SC
James R Padget, 2, b. SC
I went back to the 1880 index and didn't find a listing for a Terrell
or Ephraigh or any variant spelling but I found a Thomas P. that is the
correct age and birthplace living in GA.
