I don't find a Cassie or Cassey indexed in 1860 South Carolina, but in case
Cassie in this instance was not short for Cassandra, there's a Catherine
Simpson indexed at age one in Fairfield District in 1860. Sorry, but
that's the closest match I could find.

1860 Fairfield District, South Carolina - October 15, 1860
1348 - Jesse Simpson, age 32; boot maker; /$350; born SC
Eliza, age 28; born SC
Mary, age 5; born SC
Catherine, age 1; born SC
