Hello Margie,

I do not find any Greenberry Crawford listed any where in the1840 SC Census,
in fact I did not find any Crawford in Abbeville Co., but did find this
person listed in Charleston Co., of the right age, could this is your
Greenberry ?

G. B. Crawford,

2 males of the age of 5 but under the age of 10,
1 male of the age of 30 but under the age of 40,

1 female of the age of 5 but under the age of 10,

Looks like there were some slaves.

1 male slave under the age of 10,
1 male slave of the age of 10 but under the age of 24,
1 male slave of the age of 36 but under the age of 55,
1 male slave of the age of 55 but under the age of 100,

1 female slave under the age of 10,
3 female slaves of the age of 10 but under the age of 24,
2 female slaves of the age of 24 but under the age of 36,
1 female slave of the age of 36 but under the age of 56,

Total of 15, 9 in Agriculture.

This is from 1840 Charleston Co. SC,
Roll: 507,
Page: 6,

There was a J. G. Crawford in Marion Co., but he is of the wrong age.
