I am researching the Dunham family of Colleton County during the 1700's.
Family members include William Denham/Dunham who received 1696 land grant
for importing his wife and child. He died 1730's. His son Jacob was the
heir at law. Jacob had two wives and died leaving a will 1745/45. Jacob
had 5 sons and one daughter.
Two of Jacobs sons, Daniel and William moved with the Dorchester Society of
Dorchester Berkley to Sunbury GA in 1752. The apparently eldest son James
married three times, a Mary, Mary Bee widow of Isaac Hayne father of the
"Revolutionary War Martyr, and Jane Vandiver widow of Gilbert Pepper.
Would like to know the names of William's wives and the maiden name of
James's first wife.
