Dear Mr.Rigdon, I have just enjoyed reading your Civil War In South Carolina
site. It is most impressive and I want to thank you for all your hard work. I
found my great great grandfather on a list at the library. He was in 1st Orr's
Rifles. His name was Henry H. Clamp. Do you have him on your list? I also
found him on the 1850 Census of SC. It stated AEBE(Abbeville?) and
Saluda(C0.?) or Township?
Do you know any more about the men from the Abbeville area in the Civil
War?
You are really honoring the memory of these men and their wives,sisters and
daughters.
I wish that when I was a girl in my SC school,I had realized the enormity
of this war. I guess that is how youth is. Other things were more important
at the time.
