Of course I have a GILSTRAP link but it won't make us more related, I don't
guess! My mother's mother, Cora Lee THOMAS, married Lester Ephraim GILSTRAP
first, had three sons, then Lester died. Next, she married Wm. Elkanah
Marchbanks GREER, and had my mother, followed by two more boys.

I have a good bit of the GILSTRAP data bec. my Uncle L. A. GILSTRAP left an
only child who left an only child, Jeannie Whitlock HOFFMANN. Jeannie and I
are and have always been very close; that's good bec. we have no one else
left really.

Do you have Bright back to Peter GILSTRAP and Mary Ann BRIGHT? Our line
runs through their son Hardy and his wf. Anna Dove CARLTON. It seems that I
remember Bright was a brother to Hardy. Let me know if I might have
anything you need.

Thank you! BTW, do you suppose there is anybody who is realllllly fr.
Pickens Co. who is not related to a GILSTRAP, a PORTER, and some of the
other more popular names around??? I sort of doubt it!

Hi all,
I posted this query some time back, but hopefully there are new folks on the
list, or perhaps some of you have access to new data.
I am trying to find the ancestry of my g and gg grandmothers in South
Carolina.
Polly Ann "Mary" Nix, b. abt. 1833 in Pickens County, m. Lewis S Gilstrap
abt. 1855 in Pickens County
Elizabeth Morgan b.1799 in South Carolina, m. Bright Gilstrap, Sr. in 1824
Any help on either of these would be most welcome.
Also, if there is anyone else out there who is descended from one of these,
I would like to hear from you.
