Seeking the parents, first wife, and siblings for Ivey Taylor, shown on
the 1830 Abbeville, SC Census (age 30-40) with his wife (age 20-30) and
4 sons.
His full name is Richard Ivey Taylor b. 1799 SC, he was still in SC on
12 January 1832 when his daughter Harriett was born, then migrated with
several other Taylor families to AL. These Taylors settled in Lowndes Co.,
Montgomery Co. and Coffee Co. AL. His son Daniel was born in AL in 1841.
Other Taylors had already moved from SC to Lowndes Co. AL in 1830, undoubtedly
kin, but I don't know what the link is.
Richard Ivey Taylor had several other children, and one other wife that
he married in Montgomery Co. AL on 1 May 1843. Don't know at what point
his first wife died.
The names Leroy, Richard Ivey, William Thomas, Daniel, and Lee pass on
down through the following generations. Most were known by their middle
names. His son Leroy may have been John or Johnathan Leroy Taylor.
Does anyone recognize this Richard Ivey Taylor, who was known as Ivey?
