Hello, my name is Marilyn Platt, and your message has sparked an interest and a question. Who were the children of William Carithers and Mary McGowen. I have a 4th great grandfather who married someone - name still unknown, but one of the children, my 3rd great grandfather was James Crother Williams. Just wonderfing if possibly one of the daughters may have married my Arthur - a prominent Baptist preacher in the Abbeville - Honea Path area of South Carolina. Arthur was born 1772 or 1773, his family came to SC from Guilford County, North Carolina, just after the Revolutionary War and settled in the John's Creek area of Honea Path. I'm searching in every direction for possible wives. Other Williams children were named John Williams, William Moorefield Williams, James Crother Williams, George W. Williams, Dorcas T. Williams, Jessie Williams, and Sallie (Sarah) Williams.
