My father has compiled a book entitled "The Descendants of John W. Brown of Diamond Springs, Upper Abbeville and Lower Anderson County, South Carolina, with Data on the Cordell Family of Elbert County, Georgia."

At the time of finishing his book, he was still in need of information on the family of James Albert Vernon Brown, son of George Dewey and Maggie Hall Brown, born July 2, 1901, who married Florence Booth. In later years they made their home in the Flat Rock section near Anderson, SC. Vernon died December 22, 1969. Their children, listed in the obituary, are James, Phillip, Margie Brown Swaney, Lois Brown Williamson, Aline Brown Bond, Phillis Brown, and Ann Brown. My father would appreciate any current family history on this branch of his family.

My father is a son of William Jennings Bryan Brown (George Dewey Brown's brother) and Ada Hall Brown Wiles.
