Dr. Constance McNeill, pres. of OEDGS is working on transcribing the Old Harris
Funeral Home records of Abbeville, SC. From the page of info., she is
converting the info. into an obit type article. She sent me this one, bacause
it had Edgefield connections. I don't know the family, but do know that some
of these surnames show up in the Aiken/Bath/Graniteville/Warrenville, Aiken Co,
area.

I asked Connie for permission to share with the list. She hopes it will help
someone. I am forwarding this info. only. I have NO connections to this
family that I know of YET...

Another Edgefield Connection I found in the Harris Funeral Home Records

Buried in Warrensville; Note his Military Record.

WARRENSVILLE, LEWIS K. KNEECE, SR. - Mr. Lewis K. Kneece, Sr., 58,
died at the Abbeville Memorial Hospital, Wednesday April 4, 1951 at 8:55 PM.
A resident of Abbeville for the past 14 years, he was a textile worker and
was born in Edgefield County, August 2, 1892, a son of the late Charlie and
Amanda Holley Kneece and was the husband of the late Sallie Livingston
Kneece.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Joel Warren, Abbeville; one
son, Lewis K. Kneece, Jr. of Columbia; two sisters, Mrs. Sallie McDaniel
and Mrs. Mary Barton both of Augusta, GA and four grandchildren. A veteran
of WW I, Mr. Kneece was a member of South Side Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at South Side Baptist Church Friday April 6.

at 3PM conducted by the Rev. Henry Gambrell assisted by the Rev. Alfred
Guest and the Rev. J. L. Jett. Interment will follow in the Warrensville
Cemetery, Warrensville, SC. Active Pallbearers will be W. O. Sutherland,
Frank Black, Raymond Mundy, David Simmons, Robert Carter, Clarence Nix, and
Loyd Pardue. Flower bearers will be Billie Payne Carroll, Louise Elrod,
Kathleen Gillespie, Ruby Stewart, Betty McCurry and Madeleen Gillespie.
The body will be at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Joel Warren, South Main
Street until the hour of the funeral.
