I work on the Rauton family line of Old Edgefield dist, SC [desc. of John
ROTTON, Sr. b: Abt. 1770 in SC d: Jan 29, 1852 in Edgefield Co., SC Burial:
Possibly unmarked graves at Rocky Creek Bapt. Church, Edgefield Co, SC ..
+Mary UNKNOWN b: Abt. 1776 in SC d: Jul 11, 1855 in Edgefield Co., SC
Burial: Possibly unmarked graves at Rocky Creek Bapt. Church, Edgefield Co,
SC.

I have proven one Rhoden line to connect back to the original Rotton lines,
and so I have sorta been looking out for others.

The following obit was sent to me. I am interested since the Yonce and
Corley names mentioned as mother and wife are Old Edgefield names as well.
Several Yonces of the Johnston area married Rautons, the spelling used by my
line of Rotton/Roton/Rotten/Rhoden/etc.

Can anyone provide information back from the father Heywood Rhoden and
mother Hallie Yonce to help me make connections to some of the folks in my
research. I have not started looking up census records, etc to see if I
find them. Would appreciate help to get started. Also, to which Corley
family does his wife Kay Corley belong?

Here is the obit published in the Augusta Chronicle, July 19, 2006
