Am descended from James M. Wood and Elizabeth Jane Mauldin. Elizabeth
was the daughter of John and Mary Mauldin of Anderson Co., SC. Have hit
a brick wall on James Wood. 1850 Pickens Co. census shows he was born
1803 Pickens Co., SC.

I've begun looking at men in the area with male children about James'
age. Joel Wood falls into that catergory. Can anyone supply any
additional information on Joel?
