All of the Rascos listed below were born in South Carolina according to all
the Federal Censuses where they are enumerated. At the Time of their births
the only place I have found any Rascos living in South Carolina is in the
Marlboro/Chesterfield Counties.

LODOWICH RASCO he was born in 1808 in S.C. He was mentioned by name in an
inventory of the personal property of the estate of Doctor Archbald Fairly's
estate in 1827 Richmond County N.C. per research by Myrtle Bridges. By 1828
Lodowich was residing in Pike County Georgia. By 1840 he was residing in
Coweta County Georgia. He removed to Brazos County Texas about 1858 and was
enumerated there in the 1860 census. He later moved to Grimes or Madison
County Texas.

JAMES RASCO he was born in 1810 in S.C. Was likely a younger brother of
Lodowich Rasco. Was in Pike County Georgia where he married Ann Cropin
January 10, 1837. Enumerated in Pike County Ga. Census in 1840. Was living in
Monroe County Alabama when the 1860 census was taken.

MARY RASCO she is the mother of James Rasco listed above. She was born in
S.C. about 1765. Her maiden sur-name is unknown. She was a widow when she
married a widower named John Cameron in Pike County Georgia August 27, 1828.
In 1860 she was again a widow residing in the home of her son James Rasco in
Monroe County Alabama.

JONATHAN RASCO he was born in S.C. about 1807-1808. He first appears in the
Pike County Alabama census of 1830. Have not located him in the 1840 census.
He was married to his second wife, Sarah Ann Crawford June 6, 1849 in
Talladega County Alabama. They were residing in Shelby County Alabama when
the 1850 census was taken. They were in Blount County Alabama when the 1860
census was taken. Have not located them after the 1860 census.

JOHN RASCO he was born October 23, 1808 in S.C. and died May 9, 1887 in Clay
County Alabama. He is probably the same John Rasco who was in Chatham County
Georgia in 1830. Was in a Georgia Militia during the Creek Indian War
inlisting in Fayette County Georgia about 1838. By 1840 he was in Talladega
County Alabama. His first wife was Clarrisa unknown also born in S.C. in
1806, died in Alabama in 1865.

DANIEL RASCO he was born in South Carolina about 1808-10. He married
Charlotte Morris August 19, 1834 in Hickman County Kentucky. Charlotte was
born in Richmond County N.C. about 1812. Daniel died after 1870 in Hickman
County Ky. I have reason to believe that Daniel Rasco was a son of Alexander
Rasco who was listed in Marlboro County S.C. in the 1800, 1810, 1820
censuses.

JESSE DARDEN RASCO he was born in S.C. about 1814. First located in the 1850
census of Blount County Alabama. By 1860 he had moved to Walker County
Alabama. Moved from Alabama to somewhere in Mississippi by 1868 and was in
Van Zandt County Texas when the 1870 census was taken. He had a very large
family. He died in Van Zandt County Texas sometimes between 1880 and 1900.

AQUILLA RASCO he was born in S.C. about 1796 and died in Richmond County N.C.
after 1870 but prior to 1880. He left a will in Richmond County. Aquilla
Rasco sold 170 acreas of land on Lightwood Knot Creek North of Brightsville
in Marlboro County S.C. February 2, 1826 and removed to the Wolf Pit District
of Richmond County N.C. The land was sold to James Steen and recorded in the
Marlboro Deed book "M" page 370.

JAMES RASCO from S.C. was in a Georgia Militia in Washington County Georgia
in the late 1790's. He settled in Chatham County Georgia where he married
Elizabeth Mall. He was a butcher by trade. He died in the mid 1820 in Chatham
County Georgia.

WILLIAM RASCO from S.C. was awarded a partial of land in Monroe County
Georgia in the Indian Land lottery of 1821. William sold the partial of land
in 1824. At that time he was a resident of Chatham County Ga. No futher
records of him.

I have extensive files on most of these Rascos but have not been able to
prove who their parents were or how they were related to each other. I have
no doubt but what they are related to each other some way or another. In the
1790 census of the Cheraw District there were households for James and John
Rasgo (Rasco). By 1800 Alexander Rasco was added to Marlboro County. In 1810
a household for Delilah Rasco was located in Chesterfield County and in 1830
Haywood Rasco was in Darlington County. There are hints that there were other
Rasco (Roscoe) families in Marlboro and Chesterfield Counties in the very
early 1800 but they are not included in the censuses and may have been
residing in household with heads other then Rascos.

I am researching all branches of the Rasco/Roscoe families and would like to
communicate and exchange data with any others who have simular interest or
data.
