In what city/county/district did you find your BROWN and JAKES family in the
1900 and 1920 Census? Which Colleton County JACQUES (JAKES, JAQUES) line are
you searching?

Are the families you're researching white or African American? I'm
researching my white family with surname of JACQUES (JAKES, JAQUES)in
Colleton County. Some of my JACQUES (JAKES, JAQUES) family moved to Georgia
between 1880 and 1888.

My Mary B. BROWN was born 1758 in North Carolina, daughter of Hugh BROWN and
Mary BUIE who was born in Scotland. Mary B. BROWN married into my North
Carolina FORT family (John FORT, b. 1762) and moved to Georgia around 1798.
