Appleby Methodist celebrates history
Appleby Methodist Church, outside St. George, will celebrate its 215-year history during a special celebration beginning at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

The church, founded in 1787, is one of the oldest Methodist churches in the state and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The community celebration will mark the church's history and a recent revitalization effort that included placing a roadside marker at the church and cleaning the cemetery.
