I had speculated a Shieder connection due to the burials in the cemetery but had never proven the connection.

I know little about the Shieders, but did notice the James family and thought it likely a sibling connection as well. The age group is right.

On further research I found a couple more adult males in the 1850 census named Shieder with families. They all seem to disappear (migrated probably) and there are very few burials listed for any Shieders in the area.

I found one post regarding a Thomas Shider (sic) in Georgia who was born in SC. I responded to the post with the possible connection in Colleton but haven't heard back yet.
