I believe this is the same George Carter and Nellie Hiers Carter that would have been my great great grandparents. In the 1880 United States Federal Census, they are listed with 7 children and one of them is Berry Carter (my great grandfather was Berry Hasten Carter and he married Emma Catherine Sease). They had 5 children and the baby, Isaac Hasten Carter was my daddy's father (he was born May 21, 1902 and lived until May 1994). My aunt, my daddy's sister has more information than I do and she said Berry was one of 12 or 13 children born to George and Nellie Carter. The other children listed on the 1880 Census are Liza Carter, Wesley Carter, Margeret Carter, Mary Carter, Emma Carter and James Carter. If you have any information on this family, please let me know.
