Hello Listmates...

I'm posting on three lists because either of you listers could have my answer. The large number of different families who migrated into old Henry County (now separated into 8 counties) in southeastern Alabama in the early to mid 1800s ("Alabama Fever") probably took the "Old Federal Road" from Milledgeville, Georgia directly to old Henry County. That would have been a sensible route. What I'd really like to know is what route they may have taken from the old Sumter & Darlington districts to Milledgeville. I've been told to look at a Mills' map, but that would only be guessing at which way then went. I'm sure somebody out there has researched this enough to know, and could possibly... please... share that tidbit.

Thanks in advance...

Val
