Sumter District } Know all men by these presents that for and in
consideration of one dollar and other good causes thereunto moving me, I
have bargained sold and conveyed to Ezra Allen and William Martin and by
these presents do bargain sell and convey to Erza Allen and William Martin
four negroes to wit: Flora, Jenny, Darby & Harriet. To have and to hold
this said negroes forever subject to the following trusts that is to say to
hold them for my entire use benefit and behoof during my natural life and
after my death for the sole and separate use of my daughter Polly Hickson
and the heirs of her body lawfully begotten at her death being alive and
upon this futher trust that the same negroes shall not be liable to the
debts of the husband of the said Polly Hickson nor in any manner subject to
alienation or any dispoitions of his whatever. In witness whereof I have
here into set my hand and seal third day of May anno domino 1815.
