Subject: South Carolina Reserve Units - 1861 thru 1865
Date: Mon, 29 May 2000 23:47:30 GMT
I apologize if you have received this message more than once but I am
sending to all the lists I belong.
During the war years, many men served in South Carolina reserve units. I
have built a site of all such units I cab find, most with rosters of the men
who served. I
have built a web site at
http://www.geocities.com/screbels_1864/SC_Militia.html with some data about
the troops (some more than others) and wish to have more. I have some battle
and field assignments.
If you have data on any of these units and/or the men (and boys) who served,
I would love to hear from you. I would love to know what county each was
raised from. Researchers have generally over looked them but every
county contributed to these units. If you send data, let me know whether you
wish for me to add your email to the page or not (your choice).
Anyway, take a look and honor their service on this Memorial Day.

PS. The 1864 units (my special interest) is included on the above link and
can also be reached at
http://freeweb.pdq.net/Bil_Brasington/SeedCorn.htm
to steal from one person is plagiarism.
To steal from many is research.
Why couldn't I have had one paper "pack rat" ancestor?
