DILLON - Meredith Watson Edwards, 42, died Sunday, May 12, 2002, at home.

He was born July 31, 1959, in Marion, a son of Emma Leigh White and the late David Wesley Edwards.

He was a special-needs individual who was loved and cared for by his immediate and extended family, who included the caring staff of Marion-Dillon County Department of Disabilities and Special Needs. His life, although too short, was enriched by the love of his family, and he also enriched theirs. He was a very special son, brother and uncle, and his presence will be deeply missed. The family is grateful for the time they had together.

Survivors include his mother, Emma Leigh White of Marion; a brother, David A. Edwards and his wife, Yvonne, of Marion; his sister, Jayne White Jennings and her husband, Darin, of Asheville, N.C.; and a special niece and nephew, Sarah and Wesley Edwards of Marion.

Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 tonight at Smith-Collins Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Devotion Gardens Cemetery. The Rev. Daniel Inabinet will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the Parent Guardian Association of the Marion-Dillon Department of Disabilities and Special Needs, c/o Pat McIntyre, 3428 Maiden Down Drive, Marion, SC 29571.
