Dora Jackson Carter, 74

VALDOSTA, Ga. - Dora Jackson Carter, 74, died Monday, July 5, 2004.

Born May 22, 1931, in Dillon, she was the daughter of the late Lun and Viola
Ball Jackson. She was married to the late D.D. Carter. She was a member of
Springdale Baptist Church. She was a retired textile weaver.

Survivors include her daughter, Diane McInvaille of Lancaster; a son, David
M. Carter of Valdosta; a sister, Daisey Blanchard of Shreveport, La.; a
granddaughter, Renee Cook of Lancaster; four grandsons, Kris Carter, Danny
Pardue, and Bobby McInvaille of Lancaster, all of Lancaster, Mike Holmberg
of Valdosta; and seven great-grandchildren, Teddy Pardue, Kevin Cook and
Alex McInvaille, Chris Cook, Jonathan Cook and Nicholas Cook, all of
Lancaster, McKenzie Cunningham of Durham, N.C. She was preceded in death by
a son, Danny Ray Carter and a daughter, Sheila Ann Carter.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Cauthen Funeral Home Chapel,
conducted by the Rev. Dr. Clyde Stokes, pastor of Charity Baptist Church in
Valdosta, with burial in Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 8 a.m. until service time Saturday at
Cauthen Funeral Home
