Paul Kannaday Sr.

COLUMBIA - Funeral service for Mr. Paul Davis Kannaday, Sr., 84, will be
held at two o'clock Thursday, October 7, 2004 at the graveside in Crescent
Hill Memorial Gardens with The Reverend Wayne Kannaday officiating.
Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, Lexington County Recreation and
Aging Commission, 125 Parker Street, Lexington, SC 29072 and the American
Diabetes Association, Post Office Box 1131, Fairfax, VA 22038-1131.

Mr. Kannaday died Tuesday, October 5, 2004. Born in Lexington County, SC, he
was a son of the late Thomas G. and Viola Lybrand Kannaday. Mr. Kannaday
proudly served his country in the U.S. Army where he won the Philippine
Liberation Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Meritorious Unit Award, and the Good
Conduct Medal. He, along with his two brothers, served from the Philippines
to Southwest Pacific to France during WWII. All three returned to the USA
following service to their country. He worked as a Richland County Deputy
Coroner.

Survivors include his two sons, Paul D. Kannaday Jr. and his wife, Delores
of Columbia, and Ray A. Kannaday of Lexington; a brother, Raymond Kannaday
and his wife, Carolyn of Latta, SC; a sister, Evelyn Harman of West
Columbia; grandchildren, Tracy Chassereau and her husband Scott, Candace
Kannaday-Ramos and husband, Dr. Robert Ramos, Kimberly Amick and husband,
Chris, Alison Bouknight and husband, Todd; seven great-grandchildren. Mr.
Kannaday was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Wilhelmina.
