FLORENCE -MARION Sandy James Martin Jr., 77, of 2314 McPherson Farm Road,
Florence, died early Wednesday morning, Jan. 19, 2005, in a Florence
hospital after an illness.

Mr. Martin was born in Marion County, a son of the late Sandy James Martin
Sr. and the late Fodi Mae Perritt Martin Coleman. He was a member of
Florence Baptist Temple and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. He retired
in 1987 from Celenese Fiber Industries.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Sandy James Jamie Martin IV.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret Calder Martin of the home; a son, Sandy
James SkipMartin III of Florence; three brothers, Hershel Martin of
Bishopville, Charlie Hagood Martin of Myrtle Beach and Walker Douglas
Coleman of Elgin; a sister, Elsie Leona Martin Monroe of West Columbia; and
a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, in Florence Baptist
Temple. Burial will follow in Florence National Cemetery with military
rites.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
