Jennie Locklear Beard, 77, died Wednesday, September 5, 2007, at her
residence.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday in Cooper Funeral Home Chapel
with burial in Mt. Elem Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m.
Saturday in the funeral home.
Born in Marlboro County, April 5, 1930, she was the daughter of the late
Evans Locklear and Flora Clark Locklear. She was a member of Mt. Elem Baptist
Church, and was a textile worker. She was the widow of the late John W. Beard.
Survivors include her son, Robert C. (Lorrie) Altman of Florence; daughter,
Ann Katherine Beard of Florence; grandchildren, Katherine Hooks and Adam
Davidson.
