TURBEVILLE, SC — Rev. Isadore Sonny Lee, age 75, died April 24, 2008 after
an illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 oclock pm Sunday at Turbeville First
Baptist Church with interment services at 4:30 pm at Magnolia Cemetery in Latta.
Visitation will be from 6 — 8 PM tonight at Turbeville First Baptist Church.
Born in Dillon County, he was a son of the late Robert Edward Lee, Jr. and
Mary Louise Johnson Lee. Rev. Lee was a retired Baptist Minister, having served
at Union Baptist Church in Marion and First Baptist Church in Turbeville of
which he was a member. He received a diploma of pastoral ministries from
Southeastern Seminary, and was a member of Turbeville Ministerial Association .
He was awarded Pastor Emeritus on June 30, 2001 and recieved the Smyrna Award
from Turbeville First Baptist Church. He was a member of the Lions Club, and
a U.S. Navy Veteran, having served in The Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann White Lee, and two brothers,
Vondell Lee and R.M. Lee.
Surviving are a daughter, Wendy L. (Kenny) Yates of Turbeville; a son,
Jeffrey D. Lee of Florence; two sisters, Jean Lee of Latta, and Mildred Johnson of
Dillon; three grandchildren, Carson Elizabeth Lee, David Michael Lee, and
Kenneth Coleman Yates.
Memorials may be made to Turbeville First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 177,
Turbeville, S.C. 29162.
The Lee family would like to give special thanks to Winyah Hospice (Adaire,
Karen, Rebecca, and Tracie) , and to Dr. Kate Smith and Dr. Dorn Smith for
their many years of loving care.
