FORK — Margaret Calder Martin, 79, of Florence died Wednesday, Jan. 28,
2009, in a Dillon County health care facility after an illness.
Mrs. Martin was born in Marion, a daughter of the late Curtis Mack and Lucy
C. Calder. She retired from S & W Manufacturing, was a longtime member of
Florence Baptist Temple and the Valentine Bible Class.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Sandy James Martin Jr.;
grandson, Jamie Martin; brother, Joe R. Calder; sisters, Margie Hingson Weldon
and Dorothy Rushing Singletary.
Surviving are her son, Sandy J. Skip Martin III of Hartsville; sisters, Grace
Lindgren, Alease Porter and Agnes Hershberger, all of Florence, and Curtis
Mae Caulder of Marion; sister-in-law, Margaret Calder Ray of Marion.
Memorials may be made to the Carriage House, for Sandy J. Skip Martin III,
1131 E. Home Ave., Hartsville, SC 29550.
Funeral services will be held at noon Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, in the
Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Florence National
Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home
and other times at the residence of Jesse and Kathy Norton, 2700 Myrtle Drive,
Florence.
