I am researching the Hartwell Macon (1741 - 1828), Sr., Hartwell Macon, Jr.
(1770 - >1860), Gideon Macon (1868?- 1800?) families of Fairfield, SC. I am
interested in knowing the name of the wife of Hartwell Macon, Sr. It is
listed as "Lucy K." I am looking for the Kennon, Eppes, Hamblin connection.
I believe Gideon Macon (d.1800?) to be the father of Hamblen Eppes Macon m.
Sarah McGrary who is found int he 1820 Faifield Co. Census, along with
Hartwell, Sr. and 1 other Macon family. H>E> Macon would move with his
family to Ala. after the death of Hartwell Macon, Sr. I do not know the
name of H>E>Macon's mother, Gideon's wife.
The Macon's were from Va>NC>SC>Al>MS. There were some Macon's in Ga., Tn.,
and Florida, eventually.
The Green's, Cantey's, and Alston's were families that married with the
Macon's and Kennon's along the way.
Hartwell Macon, Jr., would be in Sumter Dist., SC, along with Warner Macon
(abt. 1787- 1860) in the 1820 Census. Hartwell Macon Sr. m. Elizabeth
Powell (the Widow Brunson) in 1803, Sumter, SC. Warner Macon m. Elizabeth
Brunson (the Widow Bradford) in 1814, Sumter, SC. The Widow Bradford was
the daughter of the Widow Brunson's first marriage. I do not know the
familial relationship of Hartwell Macon and Warner Macon.
Help!
I think Warner Macon was "Beamed Down"! Of course, he is my direct
ancestor!
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Patricia Connors Nowlin
