Raymond Watts

FLORENCE - Services for Raymond Odell Watts, 76, of 1712 Raven Drive, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church. Entombment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery Mausoleum directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7-9 this evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 915 Cherokee Road, Florence.

Mr. Watts died Monday afternoon, February 11, 2002. Born in Horry County, he was a son of the late William Henry and Brittie Rabon Watts. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, a member of the Hospital Visitation Committee, a member of the Men's Missions Ministry, member of the Church Ushers, a member and President of the Senior Men's Sunday School Class, a past member of the Deacons of the Church, a past member of the Benevolence Committee and had served on most of the church's committees.

He was a member of Amity Masonic Lodge, a member of the Scottish Rite and York Rite bodies, a member of the Omar Shrine Temple, a member and past president of the Pee Dee Shrine Club, a member and past director of the Omar Imps and was a member of the Omar Jesters.

Mr. Watts was the owner and operator of Watts and Associates Insurance Agency of Florence and was a member of the National and Florence Associations of Life Underwriters. He was named for many years to the Million Dollar Roundtable for Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Co. He was a member of the Florence Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Florence Rotary Club and was a member of the Board of Directors for the Pee Dee Chapter of the Big Brothers Association.

Surviving are his wife, Gail Hodge Watts of the home; daughter, Brenda Ann Watts of Myrtle Beach; son, Jackie Ray (Peggy) Watts of Fayetteville, N.C.; sisters, Mary Hucks, Martha Stoeckli and Bobbie W. Davis, all of Conway; brothers, Frank Watts of Conway and Willie Watts of Atlanta; grandchildren, Stone Caudle of Myrtle Beach, Anissa Cotton and Amy Watts, both of Fayetteville; great-grandchildren, Kennedy Cotton, Olivia Cotton and Camryn Cotton, all of Fayetteville.
