Could I trouble you look in the book you mention for references to any
other Mathis/Matthews/Mathews that might be mentioned. My Mathis line came
to GA from SC, I have no idea where in SC. Most other families that settled
here came from the Greenville/Spartanburg area around 1832-1860.

The names I have are James,William D.(Doss?),Jane,David,John,Emaline all
from around the same generation (born 1810-1830)and Margaret born about
1780.

This is a long shot.....but I'm stuck.
