Dennis,

I descend from Richard Brooks Hooper, son of Obediah and Massilva Brooks
Hooper, and brother to Thomas. Richard served in the Rev. War as well as
some of his brothers. He served as 2nd Srgt in the 6th Virginia Infantry of
the Cont. Line.

I've been trying to collect any and all documents of my Richard B. Hooper
who was born in Lunenburg Co., VA, lived in Greenville Co., SC, was found
frequently in Old Pendleton Dist. records, and eventually moved on to GA,
settling around Franklin and Banks County, GA and died and was buried there.
I've been to the Greenville Library once in March to conduct research and
have been trying to locate any and all records documenting his time there in
SC and who his uncles/aunts might have been. I have been wondering who this
Absolom Hooper was, where he came from, and what ties he had to the Obediah
and Massilva Hooper clan who came down from VA and then many moving on to GA
and AL.

Ms. Annie C. "Angie" Goodwin should be considered your best and most
professional source and guide on the Absalom Hooper line and what ties there
might be to the Obediah Hooper line. This is very exciting and I look
forward to reading more on the list about theories and "facts" on all of
these ties and connections to all the families listed here.

Veterans who lived in Greenville District, South Carolina
