In order to get copies of marriage licenses for Greenville County, ask
to see the Marriage Indexes. They are indexed by year. An example: MEN
1920-1937. Names are in alphabetical order. After finding the name you
are looking for write down the index such as above, name of couple, year
of marriage, page no., and license no. They will make copies (or they did
for me some years ago) for fifty cents a page which will be one-dollar
per marriage license as they copy front and back.
