John Holtzclaw, son of Ethel and Minerva Holtzclaw, was born 7 October 1842 in Greenville District, South Carolina.
He married Harriette Evelyn Hunt. He died 12 February 1904 in Buda,Hays County, Texas and is buried in Live Oak Cemetery, Travis County, Texas. John and Harriette's only known son was Dr. William Ethel Holtzclaw, a physician in Buda, Texas.
