My mother had kept a piece of sheet music that evidently was published in the
mid 30's. It is titled "Drifting Down The Blue Ridge Trail", a composition
by Merritt Smith, Greenville, SC, compliments of the Smith Shoe Works. It
shows a photo of a man playing a guitar in a radio studio, with a microphone
reading WFBC. Next to Merritt's name, she had written "my uncle." Merritt is
unknown to me. Can anyone shed any light on either Merritt Smith or the Smith
Shoe Works? Thanks, Pat Cummins
