Still searching for Rachel Rebecca JONES' (1808-1896) (husb. Stephen Perry
MARCHBANKS) parents. She married and was living in Spartanburg Co., SC,
until the 1830 census when she and her husband and family were living in
Greenville Co., SC, near or on Paris Mountain where they lived for the rest
of their lives.
They are buried at Reedy River Baptist Church near Travelers Rest, SC, in
upper Greenville Co., SC, where most of their children are buried.

She is NOT the dau of Rev. Samuel JONES and his wfe. Bethiah. They were
already out of SC by the time of Rachel Rebecca's birth. This has been
reported many times as truth, but it is not possible.

It is possible that another Samuel JONES was her father as she named a son
Samuel Stephen MARCHBANKS. We know that Stephen MARCHBANKS was the father
of Samuel Perry MARCHBANKS.

She was called Rebecca. She had ten children; nine sons and one daughter.
I will be happy to share their names with anyone who thinks they might have
an idea.

It is very important to me to find her parents. So many women have been
lost to history bec. women were not the head of the households nor did women
handle many business or legal affairs as long as their husbands were living.
I am trying to find the parents of as many of my grandmothers as possible.
