Hi John,
sure I remember you. I keep looking at the children of your generation
#2 and think that maybe one of those children might have been my Hiram
Roberts father. Do you have anything about the children of those? You
see, all the names of generation after generation remained the same in
usage. My branch used the names, James, Jesse, William, Hiram, Noel, and
on the same lines. I think that means something as some sort of
connection. Plus the time frame of generation #2 children when they
were born would put it just right for being a parent of Hiram that was
born in Greenville in 1807. As you might have noticed in the Greenville
Genweb files that Mel has, my Hiram Roberts was the first church clerk
and pastor of Mountain Creek Baptist Church and I notice a lot of names
that you have in your lineage were members of that church. After my
Hiram Roberts migrated to Paulding county Georgia, I find a James
Roberts listed on census there that is a pastor along with Hiram Roberts
at the same time. Hiram Roberts 1807 marrie Mary "Polly" Ayers daughter
of Martin Ayers and her brother's name was Ruben Ayers. Hiram and Mary's
first child was William Martin Roberts born 1828 in Greenville. I think
he got his middle name from Mary's father Martin Ayers. Maybe if we keep
at it, we can make a connection some way of other. If I remember
correctly, I think that your branch migrated to Hall county, Georgia
about the same time as mine went to Paulding county. I haven't figured
out why these two branches from Greenville stopped in different
counties. There are descendants of both these branches now in Jefferson
county, Alabama.

Take care,
James Roberts
