Hi, Anne
According to Leonardo Andrea, the only connection I have is through my
Pettypool family. Elisha's sister, Tabitha GREEN, married my GGGG-uncle,
Jesse Pettypool.
Writes Andrea:
"Jesse P. Pool m. Tabitha Green, a sister of Elisha Green. Jesse P. Pool was
in Revolution and as a young boy, I listened to an old lady whose mother was
a niece of Tabitha Green Pool, tell of going to the funeral of Jesse P. Pool
who who was buried in his Revolutionary uniform with knee britches and
sliver buckles.
No will or admst. is to be found for Jesse P. Pool but 11 Apr 1847 Jesse P.
Pool and wife Tabitha Green Pool made deeds to their son, Green P. Pool and
his wife Elizabeth. Also deed to Henry Darby who seemed a son-in-law.
I have heard old people say that old Mrs. Darby was a daughter of Jesse P.
Pool and her tombstone says she was a Pool. I can get her name from that
tombstone. Jesse P. Pool had but two children."
"Note- Greenville data on Jesse P. Pool and wife Tabitha Green Pool to their
son, Green P. Pool. My late father owned some of the Darby lands and I have
those original deeds from Jesse P. and wife Tabitha G. Pool. I checked them
since I wrote and the one to Henry Darby does not state he was son-in-law,
but there is some sort of relationship to the wife of Henry Darby to this
Jesse P. Pool and I have also an original deed where Henry Darby made
agreement with Green P. Pool. --the deed was for but 20a. I am of this
opinion since I read the deeds carefully that Green P. Pool must have been
only child living with heirs of Jesse P. and Tabitha G. P. Pool."
And Elisha's other sister, Eleanor/Elender married Jesse's brother, John
Pettypool.
From Andrea:
"JOHN P. POOL, will sg. 13 Jan 1837, pr. 6 Feb 1837. Wife Eleanor, CH 7.
John P. Pool Ex. --wife of Edmund Waldrop--wife of Reuben Jenkins --Sarah
Rhodes--Ellender O'Neal--Polly Cearnes--Tabitha w. of Benjamin Holly Ex.
wit-- Blackman Ligon, Joseph H. Cole & Stephen Marchbanks--Eleanor Pool was
a sister of the wife of Jesse P. Pool and was Eleanor Green--John P. Pool
was also soldier in Revolution."

I've wondered about the "Elender/Elendar" name, because Jesse and John's
other brother, Young Pettypool married Sally McVAY and they had a son,
Hampton McVay P Pool. Hampton McVay P.Pool married a "Caroline Sabrina Pool"
and named one of their sons "Henry Elander P'Pool"
In a nutshell, Seth Pettypool ( ca.1730-1789) and Mary Wood (ca. 1735-?) had
at least 12 children. Two--Young and William, are my ancestors. Young and
William's brothers, Jesse and John, evidently married into the GREEN
family--sisters Tabitha and Elander/Eleanor.
I'm sorry, but that's all I've got concerning this family.
Have a very merry Christmas! Maureen
