These 2 Fergusons are in my line, and indeed father and son. Thomas C, b 1787 in Wilkes Co, NC. His son, Thomas was born 1816, died 1893.
Thomas C, sr (b 1787) father was Thomas FARGUSON, b 1750, d 1822...Copy of his will is in the Greenville Public Library Research Room. It lists three children: Thomas, Burrel, Martha and wife, Rachael.
Thomas C Ferguson (b 1787) married Mary Ann Reisor (1787- aft 1879).They had 11 children, that I know of. None named Robert.
Thomas C Ferguson,jr (b 1816, d 1893) married twice:
#1 - Mary Humphrey (1832-1858)
#2 - Susannah (Susan/Susie) Sheriff (1839-1883)
Thomas C and wife #2 Susannah had a Robert Maxwell Ferguson (1878-1957), who married Kannie Adline Gillispie.
My line comes from Thomas C and Susannah's first born son: Thomas Ansel Ferguson, 1860-1938 (my great grandfather)
