We are looking for cemeteries in the areas of the mill villages in Greenville to survey for the Greenville Chapter, SCGS new Volume VII cemetery book.
Brandon cemetery has recently been discussed on this board and the news doesn't sound good -I hope it can be located and names copied. I've also been informed of Woodside Cemetery, and have directions. American Spinning is in Volume I. We have plans to do Conestee Community cemetery also. These communities are a very important part of Greenville history and we need to preserve what is left in writing.
If anyone knows of a cemetery in or near a former mill village please let me know. Or any cemetery in Greenville that has not been surveyed. The following is the page on our Greenville Chapter website that has each Volume indexed; please check it out and let me know of any cemeteries you are aware of that is not on the list. Some may be in the new Volume, but please check!
