Message Board Post:

I have been trying to confirm something I read in the book "Conrad Wise Chapman, Soldier and Artist of the Confederacy". In the notes, the book states that the home now known as the T. Q. Donaldson House in Greenville, SC was the residence of the Arthur Gordon Rose family at some time during the Civil War after the family left Charleston for safety. It actually said that Mr. Rose had owned the house. I can't find any confirmation of this or connection with the Roses so far and I was hoping that someone more familiar with Greenville and the house might be able to give me some advice on how to find out if the Roses owned the home. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.
