Was looking for Farris ancestors of my Dad in the Augusta Chronicle, and a
friend sent me several articles from the archives. The following obits for
folks connected to Old Edgefield Dist were on the same page with my info.

Residence of Saluda Saddened by Death of Mrs. M. A. Cromley - Ward, SC - Jan 8
Saluda Co. people were saddened to learn of the death of Mrs. Ella Smith
Cromley, wife of M. A. Cromley. Mrs. Cromley was almost 83 years of age and
was a member of Zoar Methodist Church.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one son B. F. Cromley; on sister,
Mrs. Crouch, one brother B. R. Smith and a number of Neices and nephews.
The funeral was conducted at Zoar Methodist Church by the Rev. Frazier,
assisted by the Rev. H. B. White.
Pallbearers were: Bob Rankin, Ben rankin, Claude Rushton, John Cromley, J.
V. Cromley, James Smith, nephews.

August 4, 1954 - Branchville, SC, August 3 -
Eugene P. Lipscomb, 90, of Ninety Six, SC died Monday at Orangeburg Regional
Hospital after an illness of 3 weeks. Funeral services will be conducted at
Blyth's Funeral Home, Greenwood, Wed. at 10:30 am. Burial will be at Ninety
Six.
Mr. Lipscomb was a member of the Methodist Church and was a member of
Masonic Lodge of Ninety Six.
He is survived by 6 daughters: Mrs. B. C. Truluck of Ashville; Mrs. A. T.
Carroll of Marion; Mrs. P. S. Connor of Branchville; Mrs. George Moors of
McCall; Mrs. W. L. Bedenbaugh and Mrs. Jack Welborn, both of Ninety Six; 11
grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
