Linda, I too sent letters to Germany and sent over 300 emails also, 1
1/2 years ago. From the letters, I received nothing. But from the
emails I found a cousin and another person who has been helping
me, we beleive we are related, at this point and time we can not
confurm it. It is very exciting . More people should also try it. What
do you have to loose.

Hi Everyone,
For those of you in America who know where your family came from in Germany, I would encourage you look in the German phone book of the city that your family came from and try to find people with your names and write them letters.
I did this several months ago and just this morning I received a phone call from a cousin over in Germany. His mother knows of our family and would like to write me a letter about the family. She can only write in German so he wanted to know if I could read German. I can't but my son-in-law's
parents are German and they will translate for me.
I knew my Danker family was from Stein and Kiel, so I wrote several letters to Dankers in Stein and Kiel and I received an e-mail from a Danker a few months ago that was from Kiel, he is kind enough to help me. Then this morning I received this phone call. THIS IS SO EXCITING!!!
So I really encourage you all to write those letters. I wrote one in German and one in English and sent some information I had on this Danker family and as you see, it pays off.

Linda
