Dear All,
Loved the discussions on "ferdens" which we also call fritters. My aunts
still make them all the time. We always serve them with a bowl of sugar for
dipping. They must be eaten hot or warm.

How about Grodtten Hans? This is a steamed cake with currents or golden
rainsins served at holidays with raspberry or gooseberry sauce. We also had
a special pan for this similar to a tall angel food pan. This was a side
dish served with ham, not a dessert.
