This is my first message to this particular site.

I am looking for information on my great great grandfather JOHANN or JOHN
LOTH and his family. This family emigrated from S-H to America in 1857 from
Dersau, Schleswig-Holstein through Hamburg. They immigrated to Kendallville,
Indiana and then moved further west in the U.S. JOHANN married DORTHEA
KRUSE. They had four children, FREDRICKA, MARIE, WILHELM and CARL prior to
leaving Germany. This was a protestant family. Where would civil and church
records for Dersau be located in S-W? I understand using the LDS library, I
just need to know WHERE the records might have been housed. I would also
appreciate any additional information on the LOTH family in Dersau or that
area. Thank you.
