If he married in the US,you may want to find a marriage cert
And hope they indicated the towns on it. I have an 1873 NYC
Marriage certificate that indicates the towns in S-H that both
The bride and groom came from.

How does one ascertain which Schleswig (Schleswig, city in Germany or
Slesvig area of Denmark) an ancestor came from when all I have so far is

record from a fraternal organization that says Nels C. Pederson(Niels
Pedersen) was born May 10, 1854, Schleswig, Denmark? Unfortunately his
1933
death record/obit gave no information. I am still searching US records
