My husband and I have been over a couple of times. We flew into Hamburg
(changed planes in Amsterdam.) We were very comfortable driving a car
there. The roads are very good. I agree with the others - there are
lots of good accommodations at reasonable prices. We've stayed in
Gasthouses and Ferienvonungs (vacation apartments). The latter give you
the ability to do your own cooking if you choose. We were there the
last time about the second week of May and it was still quite cool and
cloudy, but not at all uncomfortable.
