Can any one tell me under what rule Schleswig Holstein was in 1852 when my
Grandfather was born and 1882 when he left to come to America. Some of the
census in US say he was from Germany, some Prussia and lastly in 1920 census
from Denmark. I know that the 1920 census requested their nationality and
not the country they came from. I would appreciate any help.
