Dear Penny:
I don't have anything much on the Hingst family other than I know
that some of them live around Emerson, Nebraska and married into the Bunning as
did my Hammer family. I am working on a family history fair to be held in
Emerson next year and today a lady from the Emerson area sent me 19 new names to
add to the list of families that came from the Giekau Church District. Hingst
was one of the names that she sent. The Giekau area is only about 20 miles
from Preetz so there could be a conection but right now I don't know for sure.
Another name that you had was Boysen, That could be a form of the
Suriname Boys (at one time they would add an (en) to the end of a name if the person
was a girl.) Anyhow I was wondering if you had ever run across a Shakespeare
Boys?
A heck of a name for a Holsteiner, but a name that plays a part of Mills
County, Iowa's history nonetheless. I don't have any information on him other
that he was from Holstein.
I know that this isn't much but it is all that I have,
Gary Schoening
