Responding to you message about Clausens in Ida County. I have a Kathryn Claussen, daughter of Jacob Henry Claussen who married Ernst Heyer and lived in Sac county most of her life. Her sisten, Theresa Claussen, married Heinrick Galtz and they lived in Holstein, Ida county. I have records of baptisms and such at St. Paul's Lutherna Church in Holstein. Other than the siblings of Kathryn, I don't know of any other connections. Jacob came from Holstein, Germany according to family tradition, but where I don't know. How do we figure out if these are related?
